Some Pain:
I woke up this morning with an awful pain in the right side of my abdomen. It lasted for 2 solid hours and hurt so bad I couldn't sit still, stand up, or lay down. I was in a mess. So it finally went away at about 6am. I called the doctor and they told me to come in so they could check me out. Mom and I sat in the doctors office for 4 hours to be told they didn't find anything. Sometimes you just have pain and they don't know why or so they said. I'm feeling better now just really tired from the lack of sleep last night.
A Great Happiness:
While at the doctor they decided to do an ultrasound to check my kidneys, gal bladder, and the baby. The lady searched all around and looked at everything. Then our precious little one appeared on the screen. She didn't do a detailed screen of the baby because I'll have another ultrasound on August 12th but she did take a quick peek long enough to tell us.................We are having a GIRL! A precious baby girl to be named Mia Abigail. We are so blessed with this little miracle and we can't wait to meet her. I'll post her most recent profile picture later tonight.

15 weeks
Today I am 15 weeks so I thought I'd post a little update. I'm feeling much better all the time now. I have started to gain back some of the 12 pounds I lost over the last 9 weeks. I went to Babies-R-Us with my mom on Saturday just to look. They have so many cute things. I can't wait to know if it's a boy or a girl so we can start shopping. I am also already learning babies are expensive. I picked out the baby furniture we want for the nursery and lets just say I didn't know cribs could cost that much LOL! It will all be worth every penny when this little one finally arrives.
Quick side note. Thanks to my moms wonderful friend Mrs. Yvonne Johnson we are having an ultrasound done on Monday 07/14. We are going to try to take a peek and see if we can tell what gender the baby is. Keep your fingers crossed for us that the baby wants us to know.
Keep your eyes open for an update on Monday, we hope to have good news!

14 Weeks
I am 14 weeks today! This may not seem like such a milestone to anyone but me, but trust me it is! The past 7-8 weeks have been very hard on me and Mitch (and my mom who has been more than any girl could ask for in a soon to be grandma). I have been feeling so poorly Mitch probably feels like he has been confined to a jail taking care of me. He has been the perfect husband getting me whatever I need even if we didn't have it in the house. Taking care of me at all hours of the day and night when I would be so sick I could hardly move. Though I cried, whined, and told him I was dying he never let me forget that it will get better. I am happy to say I think we may have reached that point. The past 2 days I have felt pretty good. I've hardly had any nausea and I have been able to eat pretty regularly. Maybe my second trimester really is going to be the bright spot in my pregnancy. We don't go back to see the Doctor again until July 17th. Until then we sit and wait while our little one grows~

12 Week Ultrasound Pictures
Now on to the fun stuff! Mitch and my mom went with me for the ultrasound today. My mom couldn't wait to see her first grandchild. I think she had a really good time. Mitch managed to make it through with out crying happy tears. The baby flipped over, waved, kicked their legs, and had the hiccups while we were watching. They even tried to get a peek to see if we are having a boy or girl but the baby was shy and didn't help us out at all! I'm posting 2 pictures from the ultrasound. The first one the baby looks like and alien. It's a shot looking right into the baby's face. The second picture is a profile shot where you can see the baby's nose and little lips so clearly. I hope you enjoy them as much as we have!

Doctor visit #2
Well that is if you don't count all the times I went because I was so sick.
Went to the doctor yesterday. They took my weight and I have lost weight but they say I'm still in the ok range. The only thing we were in for yesterday was to listen to the baby's heart beat. Our little blessing played the role of troublemaker and was hiding from Dr. Jones when he tried to find the heart beat. After a good 5 or 6 minutes he finally located it and it came through clear, steady, and strong. We were amazed by the wonderful sound. It made the whole thing so real again for us.
We go back in on Friday to have an early screen for down syndrome done. It's nothing to worry about but since it runs in our family we decided better safe than sorry. The test is able to catch 90-95% of down syndrome cases in the first trimester. It consists of an ultra sound and some blood work. We are very excited about getting to see our little one at 12 weeks 2 days old. I can only imagine how much he/she has grown since we saw them at 6 weeks. I hope to get pictures to post for all of you to see the baby too.

More of the same
It's been over a month since I have posted. Nothing really new has been going on here. I have now been in the hospital 2 times for fluids. I have still been pretty sick and it's not showing any signs of letting up just yet. The baby is 11 weeks and 2 days old today. I'm going back to the doctor on Monday June 16th to get an update on how the baby is doing. So far so good I hope! I'll keep you posted.
